A meeting onboard Investigator

Toolbox meetings

Before all major scientific operations, a toolbox meeting is held to review how the operation needs to be done, consider safety implications, allocate roles and ensure everyone has a clear understanding of the task.

A process is also established to determine if the work should proceed given the prevailing conditions including sea state and fatigue levels.  A safety observer may also be appointed for large and complex operations.

Most operations will involve members from the science team, marine crew and MNF support staff. All groups play an important role and have their own areas of responsibility.
