A dawn horizon viewed from the bridge.

The bridge is the control centre of the ship. The Master navigates the ship from the bridge and maintains a watching brief across all deck operations. Visitors must therefore be sensitive to the operations taking place when considering a bridge visit.

Investigator has a modern state-of-the-art integrated bridge.  The bridge is linked to all parts of the ship and during operations the Master (or Officer on watch) works closely with people in the Operations Room and on deck. During science operations the science party, MNF support staff and marine crew work as a team to achieve voyage objectives overseen by the Master or Officer on watch.

The bridge also contains a crew meeting area and aft, starboard and port control points for manoeuvring the ship. Cameras are used for key operations areas not visible from the bridge.
