The Marine National Facility is a resource available to the marine research community in Australia and their international collaborators. It is a national resource supported by the Australian Government to deliver research outcomes of national and international benefit. It is used by a wide range of institutions to carry out marine science, develop and test new marine research equipment and train the next generation of marine scientists.

The Marine National Facility is used and relied upon by many organisations to deliver outcomes that are used in monitoring, mapping, planning and managing marine resources. There are many stakeholders with an interest in supporting the work of the Marine National Facility. This has been clearly demonstrated through the broad support and participation in the building of the Investigator and the committees that support its ongoing activities.
